Hitherto, field officers of the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) gather and analyse data manually and laboriously, which sometimes yields inaccurate results, leading to misleading forecasts.
To address this, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, through FSRP Ghana, has procured 20 Automated Weather Stations (AWS) for the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) to help generate agric-focused and location specific forecasts and customized climate information services to farmers around the country. FSRP's AWSs help GMet to collate, analyse and upload unadulterated data for more reliable agrometeorological forecasts and advisories.
